The kitchen measure is used to measure cooking and baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, water, and other cold or hot liquids. Two scales on the inside of the kitchen measure or measuring cup indicate liters in centiliter increments or in 1/4 or 1/8 liter (depending on the size of the kitchen measure), which is the traditional Austrian unit of measurement for liquids.
The measuring jug has a comfortable side handle and a spout, called a spout, for easy pouring. The rim of the measuring jug is curved—in enamel jargon, this is called a beaded rim.
Enamel is a natural material made from iron fused with glass at high temperatures.
